We sincerely want to say thank you.

In our 96th season, we are excited to be, once again, presenting live concerts and continuing the mission of our founders to make world-class music affordable to all residents of central Iowa.

Your generosity has made it possible.

Virtual concert series

We launched the "Play On" virtual concert series to bring music into our community, even when we couldn't be together in-person.

Enriching the community through music education

Civic Music Association’s impact ranges from touching a single life to being an integral part of building and sustaining strong communities. As one Roosevelt High School student put it at the workshop with members of Take 6 (a ten-time GRAMMY and two-time NAACP Image Award-winning sextet), “I didn’t realize I was going to learn about life lessons.”

Our mission

What makes Civic Music Association unique today, yet continuous with its past, is that it takes world-renowned musicians into the schoolscorporations, and retirement facilities  free of charge through your support. Over the course of 95+ years, at approximately 1,000 students reached annually, that equates to a legacy impact of nearly 100,000 students and residents in greater Des Moines
