Young Artist Scholarship

CMA + Marian W. Sharp Revocable Trust 

Presented annually to four students, The Young Artist Scholarship is offered to two graduating high school and two current college students who plan to further pursue the study of music.  

The scholarship may be used toward expenses necessary for the student to advance his or her music study, including but not limited to: music lessons, instrument rental or purchase, or a summer music camp or program. 

The application period for the 2024 Young Artist Scholarships is open through April 1, 2024. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Iowa
  • Be a current senior in an Iowa high school or an Iowa undergraduate enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in music during the 2023-2024 school year
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time for a minimum of one semester following the awarding of the scholarship
  • Intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. two-year or four-year institution pursuing a degree in music

2nd Prize $1000 

College Scholarship (currently studying music at an Iowa college)

Application Process and Deadline

The following application materials are required:

  • Completed application form (click “Application Form” tab above to complete and submit).
  • Two (2) completed letters of recommendation (send this web page and ask them to complete and submit by clicking “Recommendation Form” tab above).

THE 2024 APPLICATION PERIOD IS OPEN THROUGH April 1, 2024.

Selection Process

Civic Music Association’s Scholarship Selection Committee will select scholarship winners based on the application and recommendations provided.

Notification

All 2024 scholarship applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision by May 15, 2024.
