Excellence in Teaching Award

CMA + Marian W. Sharp Revocable Trust 

The Excellence in Teaching Award provides financial assistance to an Iowa K-12 music educator to assist with professional development opportunities.

The funds may be used for all fees and costs associated with the event(s)/project(s) as outlined in the proposal; including; tuition, registration, travel, lodging, food, supplies, incidentals, etc.

The application period for the 2024 Excellence in Teaching Award is open through April 1, 2024. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration for the award, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Iowa
  • Be a current music education professional
  • Funds must be used within one year of receipt

Award

Grand Prize: $2,500

Application Process and Deadline

The following application materials are required:

  • Completed application form (click “Application Form” tab above to complete and submit).
  • Three (3) completed recommendations, one of which must come from a current or former supervisor (Share this web page and ask them to complete and submit by clicking “Recommendation Form” tab above).

THE 2024 APPLICATION PERIOD IS OPEN THROUGH April 1, 2024.

Selection Process

Civic Music Association’s Scholarship Committee will select award winner based on the application and recommendations provided.

Notification

All 2024 award applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision by May 15, 2024.
