(Des Moines, IA) Civic Music Association presents master jazz organist and three-time Grammy nominee Joey DeFrancesco with his Quartet on Sunday, November 15 at 7:30 PM in Valley High School’s new Staplin Performing Arts Center.
Joey DeFrancesco has been called a “deeply authoritative musician, a master of rhythmic pocket and of the custom of stomping bass lines beneath chords and riffs” by the New York Times. He signed his first record deal in 1989 at the age of 16 and has been influencing the jazz world ever since. Joey D. has released more than 30 albums, recording and touring the world with jazz legends Miles Davis, Jimmy Smith, David Sanborn, Arturo Sandoval and Ray Charles, among others.
