The Des Moines Civic Center is a destination for world-class performing arts. The Main Hall accommodates 2,700 people and is known for its excellent acoustics and sight lines.

Parking

Meter parking surrounds the venue. Parking meters charge Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Visit the Greater Des Moines Partnership for more information on parking.

Valet: Available at most Civic Center performances. You can purchase valet parking in advance through the ticket office or online. If available, a purchase link will be provided on the corresponding event page. Valet service is also available curbside starting one hour before the performance.

Fourth and Grand Parking Ramp: You may enter this parking garage from Grand Avenue, just east of Fourth Street or you may enter the garage from Fourth Street, just north of Locust Street. Event parking fees are charged at most downtown ramps.

Third and Court Parking Ramp: You may enter this parking garage directly from Third Street, just south of Walnut Avenue. Event parking fees are charged at most downtown ramps.  This ramp is connected to the Civic Center by Skywalk.

Sheslow Auditorium is a beautiful recital hall with 776 seats located on Drake University’s campus, just west of the Varsity Theater on 25th Street. Sheslow is physically joined to Old Main, with Sheslow located at the north end of the structure. Entrances are located on the east and west sides of the building.

Parking

Free parking is available on the adjacent streets, and in the large parking lot immediately to the northeast of Sheslow at the corner of Carpenter and 25th St.

The Staplin Performing Arts Center celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 16, 2014, and its dedication on Nov. 12, 2015, It is quickly becoming a centerpiece of the WDMCS community. Conceived as a home for arts in the community, the facility was designed and built with audiences in mind, using state-of-the-art equipment and acoustics to keep audiences comfortable and draw them into performances.
