Hoyt Sherman Place is a vibrant arts and cultural destination offering myriad opportunities for our community to connect to unique and engaging performance experiences. The historic mansion features a 1,252 seat hall, providing an intimate experience for concert-goers.

Parking

Hoyt Sherman Place offers a large parking lot directly east of the theater. There is also ample street parking in the Sherman Hill neighborhood, in the Iowa Methodist parking ramp directly east of Hoyt Sherman Place, as well as the Iowa Methodist surface parking lot located kitty-corner from Hoyt Sherman Place, with access from 15th Street.

Sheslow Auditorium is a beautiful recital hall with 776 seats located on Drake University’s campus, just west of the Varsity Theater on 25th Street. Sheslow is physically joined to Old Main, with Sheslow located at the north end of the structure. Entrances are located on the east and west sides of the building.

Free parking is available on the adjacent streets, and in the large parking lot immediately to the northeast of Sheslow at the corner of Carpenter and 25th St.

Located on the second floor of the Temple for Performing Arts, the Temple Theater is one of Des Moines most intimate performance venues, offering guests the opportunity to feel like a part of the performance.

The Staplin Performing Arts Center celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 16, 2014, and its dedication on Nov. 12, 2015, It is quickly becoming a centerpiece of the WDMCS community. Conceived as a home for arts in the community, the facility was designed and built with audiences in mind, using state-of-the-art equipment and acoustics to keep audiences comfortable and draw them into performances.
