Hoyt Sherman Place is a beautiful 1,252 seat venue located in Historic Sherman Hill.
Parking
Hoyt Sherman Place offers a large parking lot directly east of the theater. There is also ample street parking in the Sherman Hill neighborhood, in the Iowa Methodist parking ramp directly east of Hoyt Sherman Place, as well as the Iowa Methodist surface parking lot located kitty-corner from Hoyt Sherman Place, with access from 15th Street.

Sheslow Auditorium
Sheslow Auditorium is a beautiful recital hall with 776 seats located on Drake University’s campus, just west of the Varsity Theater on 25th Street. Sheslow is physically joined to Old Main, with Sheslow located at the north end of the structure. Entrances are located on the east and west sides of the building.
Parking
Free parking is available on the adjacent streets, and in the large parking lot immediately to the northeast of Sheslow at the corner of Carpenter and 25th St.

Staplin Performing Arts Center
The Staplin Performing Arts Center opened on Nov. 16, 2014, and was dedicated on Nov. 12, 2015. The 1,136 seat venue was made it with the audience in mind, using the latest equipment and acoustics to make people comfortable and engaged during performances. The Staplin Center is named after Dr. Phyllis Staplin, who worked in the West Des Moines Community Schools for 33 years and was a big supporter of the arts and education. She retired in 2012 and passed away in 2018 after bravely fighting cancer.
Free parking is available in the large parking lot immediately adjacent to the Staplin Performing Arts Center.

Civic Center
The Des Moines Civic Center opened its doors in June of 1979. Since then, the venue has built a reputation as one of the nation’s leading theaters to experience a touring Broadway performance, concert or other special presentation. The Civic Center is also the performance home of the Des Moines Symphony. The Des Moines Civic Center features a 76-foot wide by 28-foot high proscenium stage, which is the focal point for a fan-shaped continental seating area that accommodates an audience of 2,762.
Parking
Meter parking surrounds the venue. Parking meters charge Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Visit the Greater Des Moines Partnership for more information on parking.
Valet: Available at most performances. Advanced valet purchases are available through the ticket office or online. Starting one hour prior to the performance valet is available for purchase curbside.
Fourth and Grand Parking Ramp: You may enter this parking garage from Grand Avenue, just east of Fourth Street or you may enter the garage from Fourth Street, just north of Locust Street. Event parking fees are charged at most downtown ramps.
Third and Court Parking Ramp: You may enter this parking garage directly from Third Street, just south of Walnut Avenue. Event parking fees are charged at most downtown ramps. This ramp is connected to the Civic Center by Skywalk.
Elliott Apartments – Located at 216 3rd St. and 219 4th st. Downtown Des Moines: This is a surface pay lot that costs $5.
